Young Life Capernaum

Build relationships with and disciple local students with disabilities

Play Video

Young Life is all about relationships; ones that start with meeting teens with disabilities where they’re at, caring for them, and sharing the Christian faith in simple and understandable terms… all with no strings attached. Young Life wants to make sure that every teen involved in Young Life Capernaum knows they are invited, celebrated and needed.

This is how you can pray for us:

  • for kids in local middle schools and high schools looking for real hope and real relationships
  • for kids we know at La Canada High School, Crescenta Valley High School, Glendale High School, John Muir High School, Frostig School and Pasadena High School
  • for kids with disabilities who are less visible because of medical conditions or less accessible transportation
  • for kids most experiencing loneliness to be assured of their belovedness by a leader who knows them and loves them
  • for doors of opportunity to open for meeting kids with disabilities and their families
  • for our leaders’ own intimacy with Christ as they share their lives with kids
  • for the faith and calling of the adults volunteering as leaders
  • for more caring adults to be compelled by Christ to invest in the lives of kids
  • for our team of leaders to grow and reach out to more disinterested kids
  • for teachers in our local schools
  • for teachers’ needs to be seen and provided for as they navigate teaching and guiding students in challenging circumstances
  • for Christ-centered, creative vision as we reimagine connecting with kids in person
  • for the provision of people passionate about outreach to kids
  • for the provision of monthly financial supporters
  • for vision and provision as we plan a local summer camp experience in town
  • for opportunity to partner with local churches to proactively foster belonging for people with disabilities
